The work of Sara Pape García varies between sculpture, drawing and installation. Her work process, which is based on experiments and research is essential for every emerging work. She searches through her fascinations for the origin of matter and life; its transformative capabilities, its tangibility, its beauty in its unalloyed form.
Drawings and the exploration of existing chemical equations form the first step in her work process. The drawings function as instructions for the creation of sculptures and installations and are based on the theme of natural processes. The viewer can make connections with her fascinations and explore the origin of his existence through the visual language of the world she creates. The reversal of natural processes and the reinvention of the same leaves the viewer at her mercy. He enters the work and must follow but throughout remains grounded in ‘reality'. She hopes that after seeing her work the viewer will approach reality with a renewed sense of the wonder of nature and his place in it. A part of her world is injected into the viewer and will take its course.
